The Netflix application will no longer work on some video consoles starting June 30, 2021.
A document obtained by Eurogamer shows that the video streaming service will no longer work on Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Wii U consoles.
The company has already removed the application from the eShop on December 31, 2020. It can only be downloaded by those who have associated it with the account.
Those who already have it installed on the console can continue to use it until the end of June.
Netflix is missing from the Nintendo Switch
The streaming application is not available for the Nintendo Switch console, although it is more popular than the 3DS and Wii U. Only lesser-known platforms are available for that device, such as Hulu in the US and NicoNico in Japan.
The two devices that lose access to the service are still popular. Nintendo has shipped nearly 76 million 3DS units and over 13.5 million Wii U units.
