If you’re looking for the right streaming media player to handle your content, perhaps you shouldn’t look anywhere further than Amazon Firestick. Pretty much anyone can afford such a device, and you can easily connect it to your television’s HDMI port. In this way, your age-old normal TV can be transformed into a smart TV.
If you can’t find the remote as you try to enjoy what Amazon Firestick has to offer, there’s no use to despair! It is entirely possible to reset your Firestick even without a remote, and anybody can learn the process. Feel free to keep on reading to find out more:
Step 1: Install the Amazon Fire TV app
You will need the Amazon Fire TV app if you want to reset a Firestick without a remote, and it’s not difficult at all to get your hands on the software. That’s because it’s available on the official marketplaces of both Android and iOS. In other words, you can download Amazon Fire TV from either the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store, depending on what kind of smartphone you have. After you download the app, go ahead and install it.
Step 2: Set up the Amazon Fire TV app
Launch the Amazon Fire TV app and log into your Amazon account. The software will try to find any Fire TV devices that are available on your network. From the list that appears, you need to select your Firestick, and you’ll need to enter a code of 4 digits that will be shown on your TV display. Once you enter the code, you should be connected without a fuss.
Step 3: Access the Settings menu
It’s time to use the app as a virtual remote once you’re connected. You have to head over to the Settings menu to reset your Firestick. Just use the directional pad in the app. Head over to the “My Fire TV” or “Device,” depending on the software version of your Firestick.
Step 4: Perform a factory reset
Once you’re in the “Device” or “My Fire TV” menu, you need to scroll down until you find the option to reset to factory defaults. Select it, and a warning message will appear to notify you that all of your data and settings will be deleted. Feel free to confirm your choice and wait a few minutes for your Firestick to perform the reset operation.
Let’s face it: instead of buying a brand new smart TV from the tech store, it’s a lot more affordable to transform an old TV into a smart TV using Firestick. That’s because money doesn’t grow in trees as far as we know, which means that it’s always a good idea to try to save some extra cash.
How about you? Do you use a Firestick? Would you ever use one at some point? Have you ever had one, or do you know someone who does? Feel free to tell us what you think about Firestick in a comment below as we carefully read all of our comments!
