The devs of Amnesia: The Dark Descent are already working on a new horror game. Frictional Games has launched on its official website two job offers for its latest project. In the first, they are looking for a 3D artist and for the second, a programmer.
According to the second announcement, the studio wants a programmer who can work with versions of their games on Xbox One, PS4, and also future platforms. While the 3D artist is a temporary position, the programmer will be permanent. So, it’s quite likely that the artist will be hired especially to polish this new horror game.
“We are looking for an experienced 3D artist. You will need the ambience and support of our next horror game. Our ideal candidate has to like terror. And he must be able to offer environments and scenes as terrifying as they are atmospheric through 3D”, we can read in the job offer of Frictional Games.
Frictional Games, the devs of Amnesia: The Dark Descent, might be working on a new horror game
Despite being a small studio, Frictional Games has already made a name for itself in the industry. And over the years, it has managed to become one of the cult studios of the horror games genre. Frictional Games began to stand out with its Penumbra saga. But its great success came with Amnesia: The Dark Descent.
Amnesia: The Dark Descent is a game of horror and stealth, which laid the groundwork for the new wave of terror that was lived from the decade of 2010. And that would inspire other great games of the genre, such as Outlast or Layers of Fear.
After Amnesia, Frictional Games surprised us with the futuristic SOMA. Although it didn’t offer us the same kind of horror as the previous work, the game was a success. Now all that remains to be seen is what Frictional Games’ new proposal will look like.
