MIUI 9 is on top on Android 7.1.2 and it was released with the Redmi 5 series. Then the update to MIUI 10 Global Stable has been made. Redmi 5A was relaunched in 2017 with Android 7.1.2 and with Android Pie.

Android 8.1 based MIUI 10
A while ago we found out that Android 8.1 based MIUI 10 will be released for Redmi 5 and Redmi 5A as a beta release. Now it turns out that beta testing is finally over. MIUI 10 Global ROM is finally being launched for users. We also observed that the November 2018 update also comes with MIUI Global Beta 8.11.23.
Certain devices such as Redmi Note 5 Pro also got the November security patch in the same update. We have to remind you that anti-rollback has been enabled by Xiaomi with the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5A MIUI Global Beta 8.11.23 release.
