The winter holidays couldn’t be complete without winter editions in the gaming world and Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is almost ready to introduce the new styles in the latest update that will go live in just a few hours. The Treyarch team came with this announcement last night on the Reddit boards and told fans that they are ready to share the holiday spirit with them starting with 14 December:
Today, we’ve kicked off our Holiday Event in Blackout, our Winter Event streamin the Black Market, and the new Winter Calling in Zombies first on PS4 – and to celebrate, we’re giving players on all platforms 2XP in MP and Zombies and 2X Merits in Blackout all weekend long starting tomorrow, Dec. 14 at 10AM PT!
The Winter Event Live on PS4
No matter what you prefer, there’s new stuff for everyone, and the Treyarch team knows how to say a “Happy Holiday” to the fans!
The lucky players that have the game on the PlayStation 4 platform can start playing today, while the ones on PC and Xbox One must wait a week for the update. So, if you’re playing on PS4, you can start enjoying the festive setting and snowballs, the supply stashes that are holiday-themed and the rewards to start pwning some enemies!
A Delay For PC and Xbox One
As for PC gamers, the team explained in their Reddit post why the week-long delay:
Because we’ve made PC a priority this year with a dedicated studio team and more support for PC-exclusive options and features than ever before, we’re committed to taking the time to make sure each update is thoroughly tuned and tested before we release each update on PC. This will typically require a later release time for PC compared to its console counterparts, and we’ll always target a release window of within 24 hours of a console patch.
However, this release is bigger, and it needs more time to test and approve for the PC content, explained the Treyarch team, adding that a single change to “the PC version can introduce new bugs that often prove tricky to nail down and squash.” We think it is better to wait a week for the bug-free content.
Finally, it’s great to know that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 will soon come with goodies for the players, right in time for the seasons!
