Cyberpunk 2077 Creative Director Leaves CD Projekt to Join Blizzard

Even though Blizzard has lots of problems lately, as the company fired many of the team members of Heroes of the Storm and changed several CFOs and other executives, the games studio still attracts some of the most gifted people in the gaming and entertainment industry. Now, a considerable part of the CD Projekt team that worked to Cyberpunk 2077 joined Blizzard, including the Cyberpunk 2077 creative director.

According to a report on Resetera posted by the user Gerwant, Sebastian Stepien, the former creative director for the forthcoming sci-fi adventure game Cyberpunk 2077, joined Blizzard Entertainment.

“Stepien is a long-time veteran with CD Projekt Red, having worked with the company for well over 12 years, including high-profile releases like The Witcher III: Wild Hunt and The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. So there’s no doubt that CD’s loss will become Blizzard’s gain,” reported Comicbook.

Cyberpunk 2077 Creative Director Leaves CD Projekt to Join Blizzard

In short, Sebastian Stepien, the creative director for the Cyberpunk 2077 project, left CD Projekt and joined Blizzard. However, we don’t know on which project he’s going to work for Blizzard, but since he kept his creative director title, we can guess it’s going to be something significant. He might be working on the next Diablo 4 installment in the franchise, but we know nothing for sure, yet.

For the moment, CD Projekt did not release any statements on the departure of Sebastian Stepien. Also, we don’t know at the moment if Stepien departure would affect the launch of Cyberpunk 2077, one of the most sought-after titles.

CD Projekt did not reveal the exact Cyberpunk 2077 release date, but we know that the game would come on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC when it’s done. Hopefully, CD Projekt would release more information on Cyberpunk 2077 this year, and maybe the games studio would also announce an exact release date.
