CS: GO Dust 2 Map: What Are the Best Grenade Spots?

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (aka CS: GO) remains one hell of a game, as it still gathers hundreds of millions of players from all corners of the world. The game is already more than a decade old, and although Counter-Strike 2 has recently been released, those willing to play the good old game still have that chance.

The more you play CS: GO, the more you can learn from the game. The Dust 2 map is an iconic one, and each and every Counter-Strike player knows it very well. The map has also been one of the favorite ones in Counter-Strike 1.6 as well, which is a strong reason to be willing to learn more about what it has to offer.

You need to pick the right spot in order to throw a grenade in an effective way, that’s for sure. Therefore, let’s find out what are the best grenade spots across the Dust 2 map of CS: GO!

The Cross

When you have seized possession of Long A and want to smoke out the cross, you can use the third grenade placement. Some players are naive enough to believe that a single smoke grenade will produce the perfect smokescreen in a match. The cross is a tiny bit too wide for this, too.

However, you may aim for the grenade by standing near the barrel. You need to make a running throw after that, and your grenade will fly past the corner house’s roof before it will bounce back over to deflect the cross. Your buddy can then make another smoke toss to close the gap.

A Site

A Site in the Dust 2 map of CS: GO also holds a significant tactical position known as the “goose,” favored by AWP users for camping. Prior to deploying a grenade, it is recommended to ensure this area is devoid of enemies. The goose is located at the top corner of the A site.

In contrast to many other grenade spots that require precise throws from elevated positions or through narrow openings, this particular one is refreshingly straightforward. You need to simply direct your aim toward the goose and hurl the Molotov at it. This approach serves a dual purpose: if an AWP-wielding adversary is concealed there, they will be swiftly eliminated, and even if the spot is vacant, the resulting flames will deter others from occupying it, rendering it inhospitable for camping.

Back Platform

The back platform in the Dust 2 map of CS:GO is another great location when it comes to the finest grenade placements. The back platform is also a place where enemy AWPers hang out and can target your friends, similar to Goose. You will hopefully be able to shoot down the enemy AWPer as they appear from the area.

Or, if they wind up getting trapped in the molly’s fire, they’ll die because of the burns. However, you need to remember that while throwing the molly, you’ll be seen by others. If you don’t move quickly, you’ll probably wind up becoming the AWPer’s target.

Rush B

You need to stand in the middle of the pillar at a tight chokepoint for Rush B and then throw a smoke grenade while aiming it upwards. That’s one of the best methods in order to achieve effectiveness.

By doing so, it will allow you to Rush B without being concerned about being killed by a sniper. Let’s not forget that snipers are everywhere in CS: GO, as anybody can buy such a weapon once he has the right money. From the same spot, you can also launch a flash grenade right away to blind everyone outside the chokepoint.

Short Stairs

Short Stairs, which can be found in the A short area of the Dust 2 map in CS: GO, serve as another strategic position for tossing grenades. It is particularly advantageous for T-side players as it acts as a barrier against CT players advancing in that direction. By accurately aiming a Molotov at the designated spot depicted in the image below, you can effectively impede the enemy’s progress.

Nevertheless, it is essential to anticipate that opponents might attempt to push through the flames, necessitating your readiness for combat. Failing to do so could potentially result in an unfavorable outcome.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS: GO) features many official maps to choose from so that players will never get bored. The exact number may vary over time due to updates and additions made by the game developers, but as of that time, CS: GO should have a total of 34 official maps.
