Let’s face it: typing and remembering complicated passwords as a form of authentication is quite obsolete in 2023. That’s because the digital world always finds ways to use better authentication methods for numerous platforms, which is why it’s time to talk about Facecheck ID.
Cyberthreats are everywhere out there, as phishing attacks, malware, and ransomware are nothing new for anybody. In other words, securing your online accounts is a ‘must,’ and why not do it by the most advanced methods that exist at this point?
What is Facecheck ID?
Facecheck ID qualifies as a biometric authentication method that can be used to verify the identity of a person by taking facial recognition into account. In other words, unless you have a twin brother or a clone willing to steal your account, Facecheck ID can be used very easily, as it takes your unique facial expressions into account for that matter. Very rarely can you find two people who have the same exact physiognomy, and that’s precisely why Facecheck ID is at the next-level of security.
Of course, using Facecheck ID technology implies that traditional login methods such as passwords or PINs won’t be needed anymore. But again, who likes to use them anyway in 2023? With Facecheck ID, you will no longer have to remember or write down complicated passwords or PIN numbers. Instead, in just a few seconds, the device will scan your face and let you access your account. Just make sure not to wear a Halloween mask in the process!
How does Facecheck ID work?
You know what they say that it would be a mistake to learn to drive a car before learning a bit about how that car works in the first place. Guess what? A similar principle applies in our case as well, so let’s learn a bit about the technology behind Facecheck ID!
The unique characteristics of our faces will be analyzed by facial recognition algorithms. Features such as the shape of our nose, the distance between the eyes, or how bulky our cheeks are will be taken into account. Therefore, a distinctive “faceprint” that’s unique to each individual will be created.
What are the concerns?
Let’s face it: it’s pretty hard to please everyone these days. People always find problems to solutions, while they find solutions to problems much harder. Some are worried that the New World Order, aliens, reptilians, or some other dubious creatures will use the data about their facial recognition in unethical ways.
However, it’s also true that the Facecheck ID technology could malfunction from time to time because of factors such as facial expressions, lighting conditions, or even a hangover of the user. The technology cannot tell for sure if that’s your real face anymore if something unexpected happens, as an AI robot cannot be trained in the same way as a human being, at least for now.
We’re eagerly looking forward to seeing how the evolution of Facecheck ID will unfold, as nobody can know for sure if it will indeed be capable of accurately doing its job each and every time it is needed. Stay tuned!
