The famous superhero known as Batman has a long story. He was first created by artist Bob Kane and writer Bill Finger and made his debut in the comic book Detective Comics in 1939. Later on, Batman appeared in numerous projects, such as animated series, movies, video games, and so on.
Great actors were appointed to give voice to Batman, and it might be impossible to pick the absolute best. Each of those actors has their charm and unique style, which means that we must remember the most important ones below:
Christian Bale for Christopher Nolan’s trilogy (2005-2012)
Christian Bale has played the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne in Christopher Nolan’s series of The Dark Knight. Therefore, the actor has taken the role of the Caped Crusader in “Batman Begins” (2005), “The Dark Knight” (2008), and “The Dark Knight Rises” (2012). Bale has been great and charming in the famous role of the only superhero who doesn’t have any superpowers.
Adam West for a more simple Batman
Adam West has portrayed Batman/Bruce Wayne in the iconic “Batman” television series that took place from 1966 to 1968 and also in the spin-off movie. This version of the Dark Knight might seem goofy, but it established the root of the Batman we know better today.
Michael Keaton for Tim Burton’s “Batman”
Tim Burton’s “Batman” can easily go toe to toe with Christopher Nolan’s trilogy, and both Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson make great roles. Nicholson interprets Joker, and it’s impossible to tell if he did it even better than Heath Ledger or vice versa.
Michael Keaton has played Batman also in the “Batman Returns” movie from 1992.
Ben Affleck for “Batman v Superman” (2016)
Someone had the great idea of adding both Batman and Superman in a single movie and making the two superheroes confront each other. That idea became a reality in 2016 when the “Batman v Superman” movie came out. Before you say that Batman has no chance of defeating Superman, go ahead and watch the movie!
Ben Affleck takes the role of Batman in “Batman v Superman,” and he does a pretty good and convincing role.
Kevin Conroy for animated series and video games
Kevin Conroy, who passed away in 2022 (may God rest his soul), was the voice actor for the critically acclaimed animated series “Batman: The Animated Series” and the Arkham Knight series of video games. A lot of fans consider Conroy the best Batman of all time and for good reasons. His voice is unmistakable.
Robert Pattinson for The Batman (2022)
A lot of people raised an eyebrow when they found out that Robert Pattinson would take the role of the famous Caped Crusader, the same guy who is the main role of the Twilight series. But even so, we can’t deny that Pattinson has played pretty well as Batman, even though perhaps other actors could have done it better.
