Both Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 and Apple iPad Pro 2019 11 launched in 2018, in August and in November, respectively. They are, for the moment, among the latest tablets the two manufacturers released, so a comparison between them might be useful for some. Therefore, let’s see which is better.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5

Launched in August 2018, Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5-inch tablet is boasting a 10.5-inch display with 16:10 aspect ration and a maximum res of 1920 x 1200. The technology behind the screen is IPS LCD which is quite old.

Under the hood, Galaxy Tab A 10.5 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 (14-nm tech), an octa-core SoC, and Adreno 506 GPU. By default, the tablet comes with 3 Gb of RAM and 32 Gb of internal storage, expandable via a microSD card to up to 512 Gb.

As for the cameras, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 tablet comes with one 8-mp main camera with autofocus and a 5-mp selfie camera.

In addition to all that, Tab A 10.5 runs Android 8 Oreo and boasts a 7.300-mAh battery, 3.5-mm jack, and USB Type-C port, among others.

Apple iPad Pro 2018 11

As its name indicated, the Apple’s tablet launched by Cupertino-based company in November 2018 boasts an 11-inch LED-backlit IPS LCD with a maximum 2388 x 1668 pixels, wide color gamut, and true-tone tech.

Under the hood, iPad Pro 2018 11 boasts Apple A12X Bionic (7-nm tech) eight-core CPU and Apple GPU with seven graphics cores. It comes in two variants, one with 4 Gb of RAM and 64/256/512 Gb of internal memory and another one with 6 Gb of RAM and 1 Tb of storage space.

Apple iPad Pro 2018 11 packs one 12-mp main camera Quad-LED dual-tone flash and a 7-mp selfie camera with face detection. Also, this tablet equips a powerful 7812-mAh accumulator, USB Type-C version 3.1, and four Stereo speakers, but it lacks a 3.5-mm headphone jack.

Judging on the technical specs, the Apple iPad Pro 2018 11 is the best option between the two tablets. However, it costs $799 in its WiFi-only variant, while for a WiFi+cellular version you’ll have to pay $949. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 is more of a budget tablet as it costs only around $300 with only WiFi or approximately $450 for its WiFi+cellular variant.

If you’re on a limited budget, then Galaxy Tab A 10.5 is what you want, and you’ll enjoy a very decent performance. But in case you’re after high performance, iPad Pro 2018 11 is the ideal choice.
