Android Smartphones Will Dominate In 2019, Apple Loses Ground

If you are a fan of the Android devices, 2019 is going to be your year. If you’re a fan of the iOS devices, well, we don’t know what to say. Apple took ideas from LG’s design, that was first introduced back in 2015, and they’ve created the biggest thing in the industry ever since iPhone X’s notch from 2017. Many Android smartphones tried to copy the design so similarly, that it really became embarrassing.

The incident with Android manufacturers copying Apple’s notch

However, at the end of 2018, they started to forget about the large notch of the iPhones and began to release devices with new designs. The notch from the iPhone devices is so big because it comes with multiple sensors that are linked to the TrueDepth camera for Face ID.

None of those Android devices had the advanced 3D facial recognition like Face ID had. It seemed that they were copying Apple just because they could. Then, when they realized it was easy to make devices with a better screen-to-body ratio, with teardrop notches and even pop-up selfie cameras, they decided to take another path.

Android smartphones will dominate in 2019

This year, all the smartphones designs are leaving China for the United States. As we’ve seen, Samsung has released its new Galaxy S10 series, that came with a new hole-punch design, with no notch and with cameras placed behind tiny holes. They were cut out the screens.

Another example is OnePlus 7, that will come with a selfie camera that will pop-up out of the top edge of the device – but that only when you need them. All of this is happening everywhere in the industry. However, we’re expecting Apple to remain with the same design. The iPhone 11 is probably going to look like the last two gens of iPhone, with that big notch at the top of the display.

For those reasons, 2019 is going to be the year of Android smartphones, and Apple will most likely lose ground.
