The latest 9.11 PBE update introduced new content such as new summoner icons, an LCS login theme, and some balance changes. As always, we’ll check out the balance changes for the champions.
9.11 PBE Balance Changes: Janna, Malphite, and Wukong
Before looking at the next changes, remember that they are experimental, added to the PBE for testing, and might not roll out to the Live client.
Janna’s E gets a New Effect
W – Zephyr:
- damage is now lowered to 55/90/125/160/195 (was 55/100/145/190/235)
- CD now changed for a late-game buff – 8/7.5/7/6.5/6 (was 8 at all ranks)
- mana costs 10 more per level – 60/70/80/90/100 (was 50/60/70/80/90)
E – Eye of the Storm
- shield got buffed by 10 at all levels to 80/115/150/185/220 (from 70/105/140/175/210)
- CD changed to 16/15/14/13/12 (from 18/16/14/12/10)
- New Effect: “Each Janna ability that slows or knocks an enemy champion airborne will reduce Eye of the Storm’s cooldown by 20%.”
Malphite
All changes to Malphite’s base stats (attack speed, base armor, armor growth, HP) and Q, W and E were reverted to the previous state until further tweaking. Riot Lutzburg explained in his post that the “Q range has also been reverted to the live value, as putting that ability outside of ranged champs’ AA range was too powerful a break point.”
Wukong
Q – Magical Golden Staff
- the damage was lowered to 20/35/50/65/80 (from 20/40/60/80/100)
- it now gets a 20% AD ratio
Diana’s changes will also be reverted in a future PBE update, added Riot Zhanos in a new post, explaining that only the Q spell will remain and the QoL (quality of life) on it.
