You probably heard about it by now but we still have a job to do. Snapchat is a multimedia messaging app that is used by millions of people all around the world. It was developed by former students at Stanford and developed by Snapchat Inc., now just Snap Inc.
Features of Snapchat
The main feature of Snapchat, probably, is its capability of showing pictures or messages for only a limited amount of time before they become lost in oblivion. Originally, the app focused on person-to-person photo sharing but now Snapchat allows users to share ‘Stories’ which last just 24 hours before they disappear.
“Discover” is another unique feature of Snapchat which allows various brands to share short forms of content which are supported by ads. This app took the world by surprise, becoming a mobile-first direction for social media which was really a new thing back then.
What makes Snapchat great and what does the new update bring?
Snapchat allowed its users to feel like they have a voice, that they are listened and/or admired. Also, it placed plenty of emphasis on enabling its users to interact with all sorts of visual stickers and even objects which are part of augmented reality.
That is exactly how Snapchat, as of February 2018, got to over 187 million of users who are active daily. Snapping began a thing pretty quickly especially because it aligns with the mindset of today’s teenagers who want to feel at all times that they live in the moment and best of all, it allows them to do so while having fun.
Snapchat 10.43.0.0 came to us with a social upgrade which allows us to press and hold on a show in ‘Discover’ in order to see its description or choose an episode and more, but that’s left for you to find out on your own.
