Inside the United States, President Donald Trump is pushing the country into a trade war with China as he’s threatening to adopt higher taxes on Chinese manufacturers, including those who make iPhones. “I can make it 10%, and people could stand that very easily,” said Trump.

The emergence of a trade war between the US and China is affecting Apple, but that’s not the only issue the giant tech company is facing. Outside the US, Apple is also having problems. Apple’s Chinese manufacturers are reporting profit warnings because of the order cutbacks of 25% by their “largest customer.”

“Apple enforced the second wave of order reduction in the wake of weaker-than-expected sales for its new iPhones,” reported DigiTimes.

Apple plans to give its customers up to $100 more when they trade-in their old iPhone mobiles as part of the “GiveBack” program. Besides, Apple is not planning much for its future smartphones and tablets. According to some recent leaks, the 2019 iPhone X would keep its design, while the 5G adoption would fall far behind the company’s competitors such as Samsung.

According to Forbes, it’s too early to name this problem a crisis for Apple, but it’s by far the toughest period in decades for the Cupertino-based company.
