How to Access the Settings Menu of Your Smartphone

Smartphones may be the pride and joy of any teenager, but even so, these little devices can prove themselves to be very tricky sometimes. Accessing the settings menu is a “must,” but it can be quite difficult to do it if you haven’t done it before.

Let’s face it: we’ve all been in that situation when we have a smartphone in our hands for the very first time. In other words, don’t be upset if you can’t figure it out right from the start. At the same time, we shouldn’t judge a person who can’t access the settings menu of their smartphone. Making the transition from an old mobile phone with physical buttons (aka feature phone) to a smartphone can be quite challenging at first.

The good news is that there is more than a single way to access the settings menu of your smartphone, regardless if you’re using an Android device or an iPhone. Therefore, if one method fails, feel free to try another!

Method 1: Using the home screen

You can easily open the settings menu of your Android phone/iPhone from the home screen of the device itself. Let’s see how you can look for that settings menu through the home screen of your device!

If you’re using an Android device, head back to the home screen, swipe right to find the settings, and select the Gear icon.

If you’re using an iPhone, on the other hand, all you have to do to open the settings menu is to first go to the home screen, swipe right, and select the Gear icon to access it.

Method 2: Using a virtual assistant

A more modern way of opening the settings menu of your phone is to simply launch a voice command through the virtual assistant. Furthermore, if you often feel lonely, voice assistants such as Google Assistant or Cortana might make you feel a lot better and important.

Furthermore, the process is very simple and straightforward. If you’re using an Android phone, for instance, all you need to do is simply say “OK, Google” and the voice command will be activated. Next up, just say “Open the settings menu.”

If, instead, you like to play around with an iPhone, you just have to say “Hey, Siri” and launch the same command to access the settings menu.

Method 3: Using the App Drawer

Let’s also not forget that you can simply use the app drawer of your smartphone to launch the settings menu. To do so, you just need to swipe up from the middle, if you’re on Android. This operation will open the app drawer, and from that point, you will have to scroll down and open the settings menu.

If, on the other hand, you are using an iPhone, you have to head over to the home screen, and swipe all the way to the left side until the App library menu emerges. The next step is to scroll down to locate the gear icon.

You got the point: accessing the settings menu of your smartphone, whether you’re using an Android device or iPhone, is very simple. All you have to do is be a bit patient, and you’ll get the job done. Smartphones are no rocket science, although they may seem intimidating at first glance.
