ShowBox, the Entire Story: What Actually Happened?

After Moviebox, in November, we met ShowBox, the streaming app for Android. The worse part of this whole thing is that it stopped working, too. At first, it seemed to be just a glitch. However, nothing has changed, and the app is still dead. A user stated that he had received a message from the developers that said that the app is going to get shut down. We think there’s nothing we can do right now. After some days, some reports showed that the app is working again, and others followed to say that it’s down again. This whole thing happened for a few more days, and then, suddenly, there were no more negative reports.

ShowBox is back, together with all of its movies and tv shows. All you have to do is reinstall the app. We’ve also heard that the team behind the app has gone on Twitter to talk about what happened. They said that their services had to be declined, due to legal issues.

Basically, here’s what happened:

May, this year, some movie studios, including, Bodyguard Productions and Cobbler Nevada, filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against the maker and the distributors of ShowBox and all of its afferent sites. In November, we found out that the team behind ShowBox has come to an agreement with the movie studios. We don’t know the terms of the settlement, but what we know for sure is that the websites that promote the app suddenly started to say that ShowBox is not the app which you can trust when it comes to copyright-protected movies.

Now the app is back, but you need to download it from a third-party, such as aptoide. Also, as they’re still under legal issues, you cannot download the content directly from them. Always use a VPN to download it.
